On my way to work from an offsite meeting, I decided to find a place to stop and take some photos. The Fountain was not operating on this day, but found some great photos to refine and add to my collection. As seen above the aquarium is still around, even though damage was left by the previous Mayor and Administration. A collective & support groups has taken claim to the Detroit Aquarium to rebuild and restore it to its original luster. Its open select days of the week and asking for only donations to bring the facility back to its full potential. Sitting next to the Belle Isle Conservatory another hidden Jem of Detroit.
Below are refined photos:
Rich with history and natural beauty, Belle Isle Park is a Detroit gem and Michigan’s 102nd state park. One Crime Ridden and a Outdoor bathhouse it has come along way.
The conservatory is next to the Belle Isle Aquarium, which until 2015 was going though hardship. due to previous administration failures. The Aquarium had closed causing lots of damage to the built in tanks and eco-systems within the tanks. As of 2017 they have been rebuilding and revitalizing tanks, building, and the ecosystem to bring the aquarium back to life.
